✅ Description:
Mirogabalin, the active ingredient in Neumig, belongs to the class of gamma-amino acids and their derivatives. It selectively binds to the α2δ subunits of voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCs). This action reduces calcium influx into the neuron, inhibiting neurotransmitter release and decreasing hyper-excitability in the central nervous system (CNS).
After oral administration, Mirogabalin is quickly absorbed, with the maximum plasma concentration reached within 0.5 to 1.5 hours. It has low plasma protein binding (about 25%) and is widely distributed in the body, with a volume of distribution ranging from 64 to 88 L. The drug is mainly excreted unchanged (61-72%) via the kidneys, with a small fraction (13-20%) metabolized by the liver. The elimination half-life is 2 to 4.9 hours.

✔️ Dosage & Administration of Neumig 10
- Adults: The starting dose is 5 mg twice daily. The dose may be gradually increased by 5 mg every week, with a maximum dose of 15 mg twice daily. Adjustments can be made depending on the patient's age and symptoms, within the range of 10-15 mg twice daily.
- Children and Adolescents: Safety and effectiveness in children and adolescents have not been established.
- Hepatic Impairment: In patients with mild to moderate liver impairment, a single 15 mg dose of Mirogabalin is well tolerated. No data are available for severe liver impairment.
- Renal Impairment:
- Mild renal dysfunction: Start with 5 mg twice daily, gradually increasing to 10 mg twice daily.
- Moderate renal dysfunction: Start with 2.5 mg twice daily, gradually increasing to 7.5 mg twice daily.
- Severe renal dysfunction: Start with 2.5 mg once daily, gradually increasing to 7.5 mg once daily.

Common side effects of Neumig include:
- Somnolence (drowsiness)

In rare cases, severe side effects may include:
- Dizziness, drowsiness, or loss of consciousness
- General malaise, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, jaundice (signs of liver dysfunction)

- With Other Medications: Co-administration with cimetidine or probenecid may increase the plasma concentration of Neumig. If Neumig is taken with lorazepam, the sedative effects may be enhanced. Neumig is a substrate for several drug transporters, and co-administration with inhibitors of these transporters may increase drug exposure.
- With Food & Others: Taking Neumig with food does not significantly affect its absorption. However, avoid alcohol as it can enhance the sedative effects of Neumig and impair motor skills.
